Annual Laboratory Critical Values List Update

Two new critical values have been approved by the Laboratories at Regions Hospital, HealthPartners Clinics, Westfields Hospital and Hudson Hospital, in collaboration with patient care committees. The additions, effective Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011, include:

1) Lactate, serum: ≥4.0 mmol/L
2) Fibrinogen: <100 mg/dL

• Relate to the communities we serve more compassionately by identifying barriers to care and generating possible solutions.
• Think systematically about daily practice and how to incorporate this knowledge.
• Improve patient care effectiveness by more closely relating to the communities we serve.
